SecureTrading was established in 1996 in Park Menai, Bangor. The company now turns over £3 million annually, and in 2000 was acquired by UC Group. Today, Bangor is home to the company’s European Operations Centre, where it employs over 30 people.

 SecureTrading is a leading internet payment services provider, and enables thousands of web and mail order businesses to process card payments online. Its customers range from SMEs to large corporates in sectors including retail, leisure and local government.

CEO Gerald Kitchen says the company plans to launch new products such as handling payments across mobile networks – with the Bangor site key to the rollout across Europe.

“With the University of Wales, Bangor, on our doorstep, SecureTrading, which offers local businesses Welsh language support, can recruit from the cream of the University’s graduates, especially computer science graduates.”
