Trade Mission to South Korea and Japan, 20-27 February 2010
International Business Wales (IBW) are offering an opportunity to visit two key Asian markets where opportunities for Welsh SME’s can be found across all sectors of goods & services.
South Korea is currently the 12th largest economy in the world, with much of its wealth generated by trade-oriented industrialisation. It is a world leader in many high-tech industries, but it is the service sector that drives the economy.
No longer as dependent on US and Japanese technology, South Korea is actively seeking business partners elsewhere. Welsh companies that can bring added value or new technology will have a competitive edge in Korea, in: Automotive, Biotechnology, Creative Industries, Electronics, Engineering, ICT and Professional Services.
Japan is the second largest economy in the world, accounting for 51% of Asia’s Economy. Japan has moved toward more liberal trade policies and is now keen to source from overseas markets. Indeed, Japan is the UK’s largest market (outside
Western Europe and the US) and excellent bilateral relations are enjoyed between the two nations.
Should you wish to visit both Korea and Japan the cost will be £980 staying at the Pacifi c Tokyo hotel.
Should you wish to attend Korea only the cost, net of an IBW 50% discount towards travel and accommodation for eligible Welsh companies is £775.
The price includes economy return airfares and 6 nights accommodation at the Westin Chosun inc breakfast, in-market briefi ng and evening reception plus a pre-mission briefi ng in Wales.
Any requests to travel to Japan only will be considered.
This offer is available to one participant per eligible Wales based company.
Flight upgrades available at your own cost.
Please note that travel insurance is not included and no management fee will be charged.
It is important to recognise that the resources and effort which go into arranging these activities and the fi nancial support offered to participating companies are, in
reality, a direct investment by the Welsh Assembly Government into Welsh companies.
It is essential, therefore, that through International Business Wales, the Assembly ensures that it invests wisely. All participating companies need to demonstrate a
clear commitment to maximising opportunities, either in terms of identifying and securing business, or in exploring market potential.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
