Trade Mission to Shanghai - 30 Oct - 6 Nov 2010

China is the great economic success story of the past quarter-century. GDP growth has averaged at more than 9% over recent years.  Despite slowing in 2008, China's economy continues to expand and develop, and the demand for energy resources, infrastructure, technology and goods and services is growing exponentially.
This rapid rate of development is creating wide-ranging opportunities for business throughout China in sectors as diverse as aerospace, energy, sustainable and environmental technologies, advanced engineering, healthcare and financial services. We are increasingly seeing China's demand match UK business strengths and China is now the largest Asian market for UK exports.
With this in mind The Welsh Assembly Government through International Business Wales would like to invite you to attend a multi-sector trade mission to Shanghai in November 2010.

Market Assistance
The mission aims to assist new and experienced Welsh businesses to succeed in China.  Through the International Trade Opportunities programme (ITO), IBW offers subsidised in-market assistance to help make your visit a success.

Participating companies can also gain access to the expertise of the China British Business Council through the Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS).

Ask your local IBW International Trade Councillor or Export Development Councillor for details.

Cost
The cost of the Shanghai mission, net of IBW’s 50% support towards travel and accommodation is £665.  This includes return economy class airfares with Virgin Atlantic, airport transfers, 6 nights accommodation with breakfast at The Equatorial Hotel, a briefing from the China Britain Business Council and a business reception to which appropriate guests will be invited.

Some delegates may wish to upgrade their flight to a higher class and this can be arranged through the appointed travel agent although they will only be entitled to the equivalent monetary subsidy.
Any variations from the standard travel package must be approved by IBW staff

Please note that travel insurance is not included and no management fee will be charged.

It is important to recognise that the resources and effort which go into arranging these activities and the financial support offered to participating companies are, in reality, a direct investment by the Welsh Assembly Government into Welsh companies. It is essential therefore, that through International Business Wales, the Assembly ensures that it invests wisely. All participating companies need to demonstrate a clear commitment to maximising opportunities, either in terms of identifying and securing business, or in exploring market potential.
