Why the USA?
The United States is the largest export market for British food and non – alcoholic drinks outside Europe with sales of over £300million in 2009 a growth of 17% on the previous year. As a result the U.S. is now placed in the top 3 growth markets for UK food and drink exports. This continued growth is driven by the US consumers increasing interest in World cuisines and flavours and a heightened awareness of health and wellness issues.
What Welsh Products?
Research show that the U.S. market offers increasing opportunities for UK exports of quality food and drink products in all product sectors with the exception of UK meat products which are still currently prohibited.
Why the Winter Fancy Food Show?
The Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, the Eastern Seaboard alternative to the New York Fancy Food Show, is the premier international trade event in the U.S. for speciality food products attracting 16,780 buyers at the 2010 event. Nearly 190,000 square feet of exhibiting space was filled with 80,000 speciality food and beverages from across the U.S. and 45- plus countries including Italy, Korea and Australia. Visitors include retail store buyers, speciality retailers, airline buyers, restaurateurs and hoteliers, and importers and distributors. The Welsh Pavilion For the first time since 2004 eligible Welsh food and drink companies are invited to exhibit within the WAG/True Taste pavilion at the Winter Fancy Food Show.
The Welsh Assembly Government exhibitor package comprises a 100sqft stand at a cost of £1,521 + VAT which is net of a contribution from Welsh Assembly Government.
The exhibition package includes:
• Organisational and administration support
• 100sqft stand in a shell scheme format including a name board, carpet, stand lighting, display aids (shelving, a counter, table and 3 chairs) and electricity point
• Refrigeration if required
• Exhibition freight forwarding and drayage (movement of goods at the show) N.B. limitations will apply
• Graphic panels – maximum of 2 panels per stand
• Entry in show brochure
• Exhibitor show passes
• Pre-event p reparation assistance from IBW and its local specialists
• On-site support from WAG staff
In order to accommodate individuals’ requirements, and to allow greater flexibility in flight options, you will be required to book your own flights. WAG will be happy to make a group accommodation booking for Welsh exhibitors if required.
WAG will offer Welsh exhibitors £675 support per delegate, per company (maximum of 2 delegates) towards the cost of travel and accommodation. (NB: exhibitors are responsible for organising their own travel insurance).
