Trade Mission to Russia

Russia is the 12th biggest economy in the world and a market of 142 million people.  It is fast becoming a major competitor to the economies of China and India and has been designated as one of UKTI's ‘High Growth’ Markets.

The demand for UK goods and services extends across many sectors and there is a rapidly growing middle class that are eager to purchase British consumer products. Trade between the UK and Russia has been growing at around 25% annually for the last five years.

Russia offers opportunities across a wide range of sectors including:

Research shows that more and more Wales based companies are looking to explore and do business in Russia.  As a result, the Welsh Assembly Government’s trade and investment arm, International Business Wales (IBW),   is taking a trade delegation to the market in October 2010.

The cost of this mission to eligible SMEs is £525.00 (this includes 50% support provided by IBW towards flight and accommodation - VAT exempt)

This includes:-
- Economy return flights to Moscow
- 4 night accommodation at the Hotel Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel &       
   Business Centre on B&B basis,
- Private mini-bus transfers to/from the airport in market,
- Delegate pack prior to the visit,
- A briefing session with UKTI Moscow,
- A B2B Networking Reception,
- The support of an IBW Mission Manager.

In addition, IBW will also provide a 50% subsidy towards one, economy class, return flight during the mission should you need to visit another location in Russia for business meetings.

Visa Requirements

A visa is required. The requirements are:

- A completed application form filled out ONLINE,
- One passport sized photograph in colour on a white background,
- A copy of an invitation letter, and
- A valid passport with at least two blank pages to affix the visa (the passport must be valid 6 months upon exit).

The fee for a Single Entry Visa (6 days) is currently £175.00 + VAT.  Our appointed travel agents are happy to assist with the application, visa lodge and return of passport by secure post, for a cost of £20.00 per application. They can also assist with the invitation letter. Other requirements may apply to holders of non-UK passports.

This offer is available to one participant per eligible Wales based Company. 

Please note that travel insurance is not included and no management fee will be charged places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Visa and travel insurance are not included in the cost.

It is important to recognise that the resources and effort which go into arranging these activities and the financial support offered to participating companies are, in reality, a direct investment by the Welsh Assembly Government into Welsh companies. It is essential therefore, that through
International Business Wales, the Assembly ensures that it invests wisely. Therefore, all participating companies need to demonstrate a clear commitment to maximising opportunities, either in terms of identifying and securing business and/or exploring market potential.
